So yesterday was the opening reception for the LAAPC’s Photo Exhibit at Cafe Metropol. Gotta say it was a good turn out. Lots and lots of people. Must commend Jeff Seltzer for organizing this event.
Just a reminder that the exhibit will be up until February 12th, 2008 so if you have a chance, drop on by. It’s at a cafe so there’s no fee for admission or anything like that.

As you may have noticed, there’s a shopping cart on this site…I will be planning to sell some of my photos here soon. I’m still trying to get organized with the products, pricing, and everything in between. Some of the products will be large format framed and matted photos…and I will add other types of products as I see fit.
So stay tuned…

Just wanted to say “Thanks” to all my friends that have supported me during the past few weeks, as well as my endeavors. It’s been kinda rough and all your thoughts, prayers, and friendships have meant a lot to me. Not many people say “Thank You” that often anymore and I think it’s an expression that has been taken for granted.
You guys have been the most positive people that I’ve ever known and I definitely appreciate each and everyone of you. You know who you are! =)
Peace!

It’s so hard to be able to find the right shot when it’s cold and rainy outside. It really gets depressing after a while. Be that as it may, I did try to go out and take some shots yesterday. I ended up taking about 20 some odd pics and out of those 20 I only liked one shot. Bryan, a fellow photographer I met from flickr.com, and I went out to Glendale and tried to capture some city life. It was cloudy all day and the light being cast made everything look dull. I did my best and here’s the outcome:

“Canvas”
I’m calling this “canvas” because it looks like the branches and pipes are on this piece of huge canvas that is the wall. I like this because the straightness of the inorganic pipes totally contradicts the crooked ways and varied directions of the organic branches. Also the single pipe in the center (along with the pipes on the bottom left) are surrounded (but not necessarily engulfed) by the branches which kind of makes a statement of how although the material things are what we see at the moment, the underlying importance is that of life. Life is what created these material things.
What do you think? Am I just blowing steam out of my ass?
